Abstract

Bulgaria and particularly Croatia have an important tourism sec-tor. The prospective influence of ERM II membership and following adoption of the euro appears to be less examined as tourism is concerned. This research reveals additional evidence that positive spillover on tourist inflow should be expected in a larger scale than the Eurozone countries due to lowering transaction costs and providing transparency and sustainability of prices. However, this positive trends are influenced by the current Covid-19 pandemic situation that creates preferences for short range tourist destinations.
