Application of the strategy “police close to the public” in the activity of “territorial police”

Abstract

The strategy “The Police close to the public community” is a for-gotten model, a tool, a method, a way to successfully prevents and combats crime by the police. The understandings of its pro-activity, solving local safety problems, partnership and trust building, lead the police activity towards the preventive activity – operation with the motives and preconditions for committing crimes, but not with their consequences. Although it has not been popularized for a long time, this particular article aims to show that the strategy components and principles have been introduced into the “Territorial Police” officers’ scope of work and they have been successfully implemented.
